I will be making a month-long trip next year to Brazil, Morocco, Spain, Cape Verde and Italy and I currently have a Refugee Travel Document (RTD) that's about to expire (I'm a green card holder from asylee status). I was told some countries will recognize RTD and not RP (Reentry Permit) to issue visas, but I'm inclined to apply for a RP this time since it lasts two years. Or am I still better off renewing the RTD? Please advise. Thank you everyone!

All of the countries in Europe accept RP or RTD. I Dont know about Morocco or Cape Verde. RTD is not accepted by United Arab Emirates & Saudi Arabia.

Hi you have mentioned that UAE or Saudia Arabia doest accept RTD.So how would we travel to these countries.My family lives there and iam planning to go by end of septemeber on my RTD (no GC).
Also what happens when u return to US, do they accept that as your travel document and let u board the plane?

gulf states do not accept RTD, but last year i managed to GO TO kuwait using RTD,my brother lives there and he got me visa using royal connection,
the buttom line , these countries will accept RTD, if you know somebody who lives there and has some connections
Hi wantmygcnow I am not sure about UAE but I have chat with some body on this forum who has gone to Saudia for Umra with only RTD no greencard.

well my brother lives in qatar, i dunno if he has some connections but he can get me a visit visa i guess and also if you travel by qatar airways they give u 14 days visa at arrival which can be extended for another 14 days. Do you think it is going to work out? your info will certainly help thx
