Filing N-600K from Italy for 2 children

I'm a USC, born in the US from both USC parents.
Have lived in Europe since the age of three (first in the Netherlands and now in Italy) and have two children (age 7 and 9 - father Italian citizenship) for whom I want to apply for US citizenship.

I will be filing the N-600K based on my father's USC and physicial presence in the US since I do not meet the requirements (having lived > 5 years in the US - let alone 2 years after the age of 14).

I have just downloaded the form and instructions and have a few questions I hope someone will be able to help me:

1) Can I send the forms of both kids together so that they get processed together, mostly to avoid two separate trips to the US for the "interview" ?

2) Can I send the forms to any office in the US I wish to, and if so, which one would be best?

3) What kind of payment options do I have from abroad?

4) In the instructions, the first item of documents to include is Photographs. But it says "you" (instead of "the child") but I presume they mean pictures of the child?

5) For the photographs it says "... print your name and Alien Receipt Number on the back of the photo." What is the Alien Receipt Number?

I hope someone can help me out. I've just started getting into this and I'm taking it slowly also because it's going to be expensive (beside the fee... a trip to the US!)

Thanks!

3) What kind of payment options do I have from abroad?
I remember getting a Money Order in US$ at an office of American Express in Zurich with a low issuing fee (around $5) in 1996. You may check on American Express offices in Italy.

Hi Willowgene, just wondering if you got any replies to your questions, as I am starting just about exactly your process (very similar situation, only I am the USC and my wife's Italian) and have exactly the same remaining doubts after going though instructions, forms, blogs, offical and un-offical sites on the matter...

Thanks abunch for any help

John
