"FBI update" name check on I-485

Hi,
I took an infopass today and the IO told me that NC was initiated on 07/16 and there was an "FBI update" on my case on 22nd Aug. IO also said that NC is not finished yet. Is "update by FBI" on my case a good thing or bad?

What is the online option you selected to get the infopass appointment?
For ex: enquiry on pending case? etc..

Do they interview you or simply answer your queries ?

Its not an interview. You can ask questions about your status.

Other than that, could anyone pls help me with my original question about whether "FBI update" means name check cleared?

If your NameCheck is cleared then you may get approval soon
as you know there are lot of people from india/china are waiting for their NameCheck to be cleared from 2 - 3 years

namecheck issue

I also sent letters to FL,congressman,senator on july 30. i received one from one congressman saying it is not cleared yet but they will take steps to clear it expedite the process and clear ASAP. When put SR on june and infopass on july 20, reply says that I485 case is pending due to namecheck since Oct.2005, and everything is clear except NC. But last week I and my wife got a SR reply for july 5th inquiry, says "case needs additional review..............contact CS within 60days if you do not receive a decision or other notice of action". I do not know my NC is cleared or not. anybody have any idea.
