I 485 Exams Area

Dear Friends,

Did anyone get the response from their Congressman/Senator OR Service Request as follows:-


Your case is in the exams area waiting to be assigned to an officer?
 
My Congressman office said the same thing...name check cleared and file is in exams area. Not sure what it means. Don't think anything will happen till October as no visa numbers are available.
 
I received a similar response to the SR opened through local congressman

As of July 26'th, Your case is in the exams area... You'll should receive response within next 60 days.
 
I received the same for my and my spouse's case.

I received the message as "Name and Fingerprints done and file is in exams area waiting to be assigned to an examiner." (there was no timeframe given as in telugodu's case).

hi friends, i am new to this forum and i just came to know that my 485 app is
pending name check since jan-2005.
i have benn silent observor for the forum and i have no idea waht to do..
please give me suggestions what to do?
i really appreciated any replies.

it all depends on luck at NSC and TSC

our applications should be touched by the hand of God so that a visa number will be assigned. That is the only way we can get approval before September 30th and after that we will be back to Visa Bulletin predicting movements :D looking into crystal ball, contacting Pyschics (best if Silivia Brown - by participating in Montel Show) :D
 
In my case, congressman's office mentioned that the file is in exams area and they should contact USCIS after 30 days if nothing happens.

There was an LUD on my pending AP today though.

Contact your local Congressman's / Senator's office and ask them to help you in expediting your 'namecheck'. Also, a few people have contact FBI directly (search this forum) to find the latest status of their name check. This may also help.
 
I have an important update on my case.

Today i received a call from an officer who had earlier emailed me asking me my I-140 Petition number.Turns out that this guy is from a very top office location (Not in TSC and Local District office).He asked me to fax certain important documents related to my Peititon.He gave me the fax number and called me totally 3 times in the space of 90 minutes. After he received the fax he again called me and told me that my case is good to go but cannnot approve my case as the National Visa Center has informed him that there are no more visa numbers available till this year.He also told me that my case will be approved by the local office(No communication yet from TSC about the supposed tranfer) once the visa numbers are available from October 1.

I told him that why is this discriminatory attitude being adopted by the USCIS where they are allocating firm Visa numbers to cases pending in service centres but no such provision is made for cases at the local offices? How come if the visa number is not available then cases are getting approved as of today at the TSC and NSC?

I told him how on october 1st the dates are going to retrogress further and back (to may 2001) will not be available for my classification(EB3).

So guys PRAY TO GOD that your cases till they are approved should be pending only at the Service centres and not transferred to the Local Offices.

Also had LUD's on both my and my wife's I-485's.

Based on Fax number, couldn't you locate the area code?
