Seven years back one of my friend was arrested for shop lifting and pleaded no contest for class C Misdemeanor ( under $50) charges. He was let go after
paying fine and no probation or community service.

He received green card 6 years back without any problem.
Now he is planning to apply for his citizenship.
What all documents he need to provide with the N-400 application?
Can he send copies of the arrest record and disposition?
or
Dose these documents needed to be certified or originals?
main question Is it safe to apply for the citizenship?

You always need a court-certified disposition when dealing with citations or convictions.

Chasum,
I think your friend is fine to apply and does not need to send the court docs and other evidence with the n400 application. He can apply right away but may need to show the evidence during the interview.
The process to apply is very simple, read the permanent posts on the forum's 1st page. All he needs are the n400 form completed and signed, copies of green card, 2 photos and a check for $400.
If he applies by Sunday he can also beat the steep fee hike.So tell him to file quickly if he is interested.
