TSC call 7-19-07, conflict info. very confusing

Called today around 12:50, waited 25 minutes an IO picked up the phone.

Me: How are you? I want to find out whether my FP result is uploaded in TSC system. Here is my receipt number SRCXXXXX

IO: ok. she checked and said your FP is good, security check is ok.

Me: is the FP result already show up in TSC database? I learned that it takes sometime to load them.
IO: It is good in the system.

ME: can you tell why my case is held up?

IO: there is no visa number until Oct 1

ME: Can you tell whether my case is assigned to an officer?

IO: No.

this is totally different from what I heard last week. Last week One IO said my case has visa number available, (based on A# check), another IO said my case was assigned to an officer. Why things totally changed? I guess she did not bother to check the details, since the last two questions, she answered immediately.

Okey, whatever!
 
You are right haoyun04.. wait till end of July and we should have the answer YES or NO. As we no-one can really anything, so only patience is the key here.

The difference is probably partly in the fact that she looked up your case based on receipt number, instead of A number. From a post I read recently on this forum, the two keys are used in different databases or return different results, with the A number providing more details.

As for the last two questions, it's possible that that's TSC's explanation du jour for why cases are pending.

It's a good thing that your FP results are in TSC's system. As long as there really are visas left, there is hope to see resolution before October.

Yes, I agree, nothing we can do now except being patient. Otherwise, we will all go crazy by the time we get gc! :)

marooned42, i saw your another thread, make sense! But why you have two different FP in July? what was the code 2 one for?

The first time I called on 7/6, the IO said I was supposed to do an FP in May. However, she didn't tell me what code. I went for an Infopass the same afternoon, and the Infopass officer there agreed to do my FPs. However, since he couldn't find any FP notice in his system, and I didn't know what FP code to take, we ended up doing only code 1. Next Friday, I called again and this time the IO told me I was supposed to do biometrics also. So, another Infopass appointment, another FP (this time only Code 2).

To date, I haven't received the FP notice they supposedly sent in May. Nor have I received the rescheduled FP notice TSC is supposed to have sent on 7/6. Oh well, as long as they get the FPs+Biometrics in their system, all I have to do is call them up and make sure they see it. If nothing happens now, might end up waiting till October before hounding them again. Nothing seems to happen without our intervention.
 
I had an Infopass appt today...
IO spent quite some time looking into my case..

1. NC clear
2. FP received
3. Case with officer
4. case with officer/ showed some printout
5. sent an email/message to TSC
6. Asked me to take another infopass in 3 weeks if I dont receive any updates from TSC

Thanked her and left...

you should get the approval in about 2 to 3 days.

FP notices usually have 3 types of codes. Code 1, Code 2 and Code 3. Here is what they mean -

Code 1 - FP of ten fingers.

Code 2 - FP of index finger, digital photo and signature.

Code 3 - FP of ten fingers, FP of index finger, digital photo and signature.

Code 3 is a rather recent devleopment. Once a code 3 FP is complete the physical GC can be mailed out without having the PP stamped first. During PP stamping they take a picture and FP of the index finger. This is necessary for the physical card. Now that this is done during the Code 3 FP process the GC can be mailed to the applicant without waiting for the PP stamping. Lately most people have been getting Code 3 FP notices but there are still a lot of Code 1 and Code 2 FP notices out there.

I guess it is hard to find out about the IO's because I got the same bad news from two differnt IO's on two different days though.Even though the message was not welcoming to me,but it was the same information they provided me.
