Change of Residence ... Same Mailing address

I submitted my N-400 with a different mailing address(used office address) than my home address. I will be moving from my current home to new home in mid July. I still want to keep the same mailing address(office address).

So my questions:
1) What do I need to do upon moving to new home with regard to this pending case? Do I need to inform them of a new home address for this case?
- If yes how? Online AR-11 doesn't have different mailing and home address, so any other form/option? My concern is if I file AR-11 with old and new address, my mailing address might change to new home address.
- If no, can it result in complications at interview or at any other step?
2) I assume irrespective of N-400, permanent resident needs to file AR-11 upon moving/changing home. Is AR-11 a must if I am not changing mailing address but only home address? Any thoughts? Should I file a paper AR-11 instead of online AR-11 so that it doesnt get linked to pending case?
3) Adding to complications I will be moving from Fremont, CA (Alameda county) which is under San Francisco/Oakland DO -> San Jose, CA (Santa Clara county) which is under San Jose DO. I hope this doesn't add to transfer of my N-400 from San Francisco to San Jose. Any thoughts?

SO, if I understand this right, when you filed your N-400, you were residing in Fremont and hence claimed that as your home address. But, since you were planning to move to Santa Clara, you mentioned the new address as the mailing address.

You definitely have to file AR-11; there's no argument about that.

You will need to update information on the N-400 as well, since the IO will go through your address history for the past 5 yrs. I don't think there is any form (or format) for doing this. But, you can check with USCIS if you can send in an amended N-400 with the home address change.

It will definitely affect your processing times, as your case will move to SJ DO. SJ will take about a year (it is already taking 9mo for Jan applicants and expected to slow down further). SF/O is wrapping up within 5 mo. If getting citizenship sooner is an issue, consider postponing the move by a few months.

I want to keep my office address as mailing address, but since I am changing home from Fremont to San Jose, I want to know what should I do ?

You should update the N-400 with your new home address. The biographic information you provide is used for background checks. You could land into trouble (at the very least additional long delays) for not updating your information.

If you want citizenship asap, delay the move until you are done with interview.

This is a simple case of change of address after filing N-400

Thanks for replying to my questions. No offenses but you sound like I am doing something illegal. May be it sounded like that when I explained my situation, so let me restate the situation.

I filed my N-400 with all correct information. Part 4-A, I gave my Home address(Fremont) at the time of filing N-400. In Part 4-B I gave my office address(Santa Clara) so that I receive mails from USCIS at office address.

Now due to some circumstances I have to move out of my Fremont home by end of July and will be moving to San Jose. Yes I have to file AR-11 positively within 10 days of moving as I have been doing since I got my GC and I will do that. My question was do I need to do anything else because N-400 has been submitted already and will not have my future address, which might become issue at time of interview.

To that after reading a lot in these forums, I have concluded this is not unusual situation. Lot of people have changed homes after filing N-400 and they show the copy of AR-11 that they had filed during the interview. Also http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/G3_English.pdf document exactly says what to do. Looks like AR-11 is mandatory (which I am planning to file within 10 days of moving) but anything else is optional. Although it is advisable to change address, so that communication is not lost from USCIS. In my case since my mailing address(office address where I am getting all mails from USCIS) is not changing, I don't need to do this.
