Hi there folks -

I am trying to get as much opinion as possible from people about my EAD, just for fun. I know it takes about 90days. So what do u guys think? What's coming first my employent card or the interview? I am on day 49 of my 765 (ead) application.

***********************************************************************
I am posting people's responses below & the one who gets it right will recieve a check valued at $1 from Myredskins Inc.:
1) PraetorianXI - Day 81 {man why u being so mean to me? So far away? heheh} & Day 62 - after crying like a baby, will include it.
2) K.Ambrose - Day 58 & Day 76 { What? This dude can't pick ust one date? lol. I am loving day 58 coz that would be soon ;)}
3) Austriacus - Day 71.5 {You got to love them Europeans, coming with nice predictions. Me back making big bucks in 3 weeks yeeehaaa}
4) Aymannada - Day 73 {Says July 4th holiday threw things off}

Let's make a poll bet. Whoever guess it right gets a $ 1 check from you (that you earn with you EAD)! :D

I say you will get it on Day 81! :)

Great idea, i am just not very good with the HTML code, i could have done something neat here. So instead will do it manuly and check back everyday to see what people are sayng :)

Day 81 sounds so far away though .. :mad: :cool:

I was going to say day 101 :p...

NO playing.. I am getting the most sought after stamp on my passport way before that date..right now i am analyzing data posted by people in 2005 of how long it took to process their ead's and i shall report back shortly. this is fun.

It's interesting to note that the arithmetic and geometric means of Praetorian and k.ambrose's guesses are both pointing towards 71 or 72 days. Since this seems to be a special number, I'll guess 71.5 days.

There we go.. love it when people get creative with numbers. YEap in this case both geo & arith means are pretty close. what i need now are variables to help me predict why it takes this loooong to process these papers ;)

myredskins, what was your RFE for?
My guess is either 58 or 76 days. Good luck :)

RFE was for medical & affidavit of support. I had no idea what i was doing when i initially filed these papers in February. I had just changed jobs and was rolling on my H1B - but when the transfer failed, i had to sit at home. I was asked to consular process my H1B transfer but i had no valid passport so in April applied for an aed, and been sitting ever since.
NOw its time to get back to work.

hey! if k.ambrose gets 2 picks then so do i... hmmm

EAD = (87247 * 04192007) - 6973375467 = 358766659262 --> 62 days

Formula:

EAD = (USCIS * date when I-765 was filed) - your nickname = time variation from which --> you pick the 2 most common numbers = 62 Days. (both the most common numbers and the last two digits in the result, how wicked is that! :D)

So, my second pick is 62! :eek:

in case you still do not get it, numbers are translated as if you were typing on a phone keypad. ;)

I think you are now being super weird.. but will use your prediction in case it works! :p

I'll have to approach this from a different theorem than Praetorian.

Days to green card = 90*(government inefficiency factor)*(chance for another RFE)*(chance for an active hurricane season)*(fraction of senators opposing CIR)*(chance the postal service will screw up)*(chance the government will lose your fps in 15 minutes instead of 15 months)*[1-(chance you will go on to become a citizen and have the power to vote)]

The exact values of these factors are very uncertain (kinda like the Drake Equation), but an educated guess might be that the equation yields an answer of approximately 71.5.

Lol. Some of us (including me) have too much free time :)... we need our EADs! :p

Actually, some of us on H-1B don't need an EAD anytime soon and still have too much free time. :p (But only during lunch time and in the late evening hours!)

Turns out there are quite a few people with a quantitative background here. What's your profession Astriacus? I majored in Economics.

myredskins,

engineer here! But I'm a little bit of a hobby-economist myself, playing with fed funds rate forecasts, forward interest rates analysis, inflation expectations, stuff like that. My wife has an economics degree (it was my idea :) ) but now she's an economist-turned-healthcare professional.

Just curious, any jobs you can think of in healthcare where my wife's economics degree could come in handy? Health insurance is an obvious one but that's such a shady industry, I wouldn't want my wife to work in it. :D

Well jobs are related to location. But I'd give you a link that I got earlier today. There are many market research related positions, which I think economists would find attractive (i hope ur area is covered).

I hope they dont say we are abusing the list ;) {Umpoloooooop were are you ;)}
