Lost my original asylum granted letter

How bad is it? I still have my original I94.
The reason why I am asking is because I applied for the RTD and USCIS sent me a request for evidence asking for the copy of the I94 and a copy of the asylum granted letter. I am hoping that a case worker who processed my paperwork at Catholic Charities still has a copy of the letter and can give it to me. But what if if she no longer has it? Does it mean I won't be able to get the RTD? Please advise.

I hope that your case worker at Catholic Charities still has a copy of your approval. Otherwise, I will recommend you to schedule an appointment at a USCIS office to obtain another copy. I think that they may give another copy or another document that you can use to show your asylum status.

The only time I used it was when I applied for the first RTD and then when I applied for adjustment of status. Attach a copy of I-94 which should say that your asylum was granted at certain date. It wouldn't hurt to ask the case worker from Catholic Charities too. Overall I don't believe it's too bad. USCIS should have a record about your asylum status.

Spasibo, Minsk. I have never used that letter - I've received my first RTD last year without it and I've applied for the AOS without the letter. And now I need RTD this month and they are making me send more evidence. I am out of luck I guess.
Yes, you would think that they have all the records but they are asking me to prove my asylum status. Something is wrong with this picture. :)
Anyway, thank you guys for the support and I will try to get a copy from the Catholic Charities.
The local USCIS did not want to deal with me because my case is very close to be approved for the AOS. In order for them to discuss my case and make any changes or get copies, they have to have th case in the local office and they don't want to order it now and delay my GC. Believe it or not but they already recognize my face when I come to the local USCIS office - I think that I am the only asylee that they've ever seen and they don't know what to do with me and how to answer my questions :)
