The issue of 3yr vs 5yr natz eligibility is completely independent from who sponsored you for your GC. Once you have obtained a GC (by whatever means) your residency waiting period before applying for citizenship is dictated by personal circumstances (e.g. active military service, marriage to a USC, ...)
Marriage to a USC (3yr)
- a person who is married to the same US citizen spouse for at least 3 years, becomes eligible to apply for naturalization 3yrs minus 90 days from the date they became an LPR. If the marriage occurred after LPR was granted, they would become eligible on the 3rd year anniversary of the marriage.
Regular cases (5yr)
- eligibility starts 5 years minus 90 days from date of becoming an LPR.
Since (I think) you say your spouse only became a USC after you were married and had received your LPR, your eligibility would be 3yrs from the date of your spouse's naturalization, or 5yrs from the date of your LPR, whichever is sooner.
