I have checked my case Status online and this is what i got
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On June 23, 2005, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. What will happen next and how long will it take to approve my application?

what does it mean?

I have a message like yours since September. Before that I had a message that this type of applications take more than 365 days. Go figure..... One thing I know for sure because of the infopass: I am stuck in FBI name check....

Well...
nobody on this forum knows anything about your case, so what answer do you want to hear?
If you wasn't fingerprinted, then most probably fingerprinting will happen next.
How long to approve? In the timeframe from tomorrow till 5 years from now. If you are not from retrogressed category. May be more then 5 years. Satisfied? :)

And I am not kidding about 5 years.
according to http://www.immigrationwatch.com/uscis-processing-times-I485.html I-485 can be approved in 1 day and can be approved in 1925 days.
And there are people who are waiting more then 1925 days.

So what answer do you need from us?

It means than your friend's fingerprints review was completed.
