should i hire a lawyer?

hi guys,
First of all,i want to tell you that you guys are doing a great job here.i have entered this country legally and currently out of status for almost 6 years now,married to us citizen.planning to file my papers.Should i hire a lawyer?or can i just file everything by myself? as it seems not so hard to do it myself.Please i need your opinion on this.thank you.

You can if you want to. If you do it on your own, you have to be meticulous. If you think you can do it, you don't need a lawyer. You are out of status but entered the country legally and married to a US citizen, so your overstay will be forgiven.
