Hello every one,

I have some question. can any one plz answer these questions:

1) How I can decide Preference Classification such as EB2 for me?

2) Does PERM process time depends on alien country? if I am not from China, Phillipine, India and mexico will it take less time? If so then how can we check process time of each country like Canada,Pakistan.

I am Canadian citizen and born in Pakistan. I did Masters of Applied Science (MASc) -Engineering from Canada in 2005. During that period I worked as Research Engineer for 3 years and published two research papers and also got research scholarship and worked part time as Teaching Assistant.

any help will be really appreciating

Thanks

EB to is for workers who hold an Advanced degree (e.i. Master degree) for that you need to consult a lawyer because it would also depend on the job title and the degree requirement for the job. EB2 and greencard is not as simple as TN, so you will need an legal advise for that. as far as timeline you must check the Visa Bulletin. just search this forum under Immigrant visa. there are lots of good answers but you will need a professional advise.

As well you don't check the processing time for your country, you would check the processing time / progress for the service center that is processing your case. That is my understanding anyways.

--- You need to consult a lawyer to check your qualifications and job you're applying for to see if you qualify for EB2. EB2 requires BS + 5 years related experience OR MS + 0 years related experience. If you've published research papers you may even qualify for a NIW (National Interest Waiver) which means you may not even need to get Labor Cert or go through PERM. Again, you need a good immigration lawyer.

--- PERM is for Labor Cert approval and does not depend on your citizenship or birth country. The only time your country is taken into account is when a visa number is available for you when you change your status (AOS/I-485) and that depends on your birth country AND employment classification. Since your born in Pakistan, you belong to ROW (Rest of World), which is current for EB2 or EB1.
