Hi Folks:
I went to InfoPass today to inquire about the status of my case and why is it not processed yet. The guy told me that they have no jurisdiction over Lincoln where my case is so he can not answer this question. All the time he was asking me for my A number which I did not have so he had to look me up by name and birthdate. According to what he told me my name check was cleared as of 09/2006.

I guess that next time I will have my A number with me.

I doubt that they have cleared your name check so fast. Since you have submitted your I-140/I-485 in late August, 2006, and your first FP have been done in November, 2006, it is more likely that they have just STARTED your name check in September, 2006. I wish you do not get stuck in this name check!

Likely stuck in name check

anotherbricking,

My FD is 8/30/2006, and receipt date is 9/26/2006. Through infopass, name check started on 10/2/2006, and is still pending! Officially i'm stuck.

Please try to find out your situation. Good luck!

Status of namecheck

I went to another InfoPass appointment this morning. This time I brought my EAD and I-485 receipt number. The lady was nice but she could not tell me if my case is assigned to an officer or not, but she said that it "probably" is because the same person has entered the updates on my case, Again she could not tell for sure if it is assigned to officer or not.
I also asked her to check again on my security checks and she said that they have been cleared Sept.08.2006. That is basically how the appointment went.
I have also initiated a Service Inquiry (over the 1-800 telefone number) last week, hopefully soon I will get the response and see what it says.

re:

anotherbricking,

i am also in the same boat. my case is at NSC and I initiated a service inquiry and i received a letter to verify my address, which is weird. I have already mailed them an AR-11 one yr ago. I am in NJ and my case was filed at NSC, since I was in that area before. where are you located? did you go to a field office which is in a different jurisdiction than NSC?

I am in Florida.

what does your Response to Inquiry say? How long it took you to get it? and also what are the details of your case?

Service inquiry

Hi Folks:
I have received the response to my service inquiry after waiting for 2 weeks.
It says that my case is currently under review and I should wait another 60 days from the day of this letter to hear something.

How did you make service inquiry? Did you write to NSC or did you call customer service and ask them to make a inquiry for you? If you wrote to NSC, did you just address to NSC or did you address to a particular unit of NSC? Thanks for the information!

Actually, it is possible...

... that they can clear NC in such a time frame as anotherbricking's. Mine and my spouse's were cleared within a month too. In most cases, that should lead to GC approval within a few months unless there is any other problem with the application. But that does not seem to be the case always. My GC was approved three months later, whereas my spouse's is still pending.

I called the National USCIS customer service number and the kept pressing the buttons till I was able to speak with customer service representative and I requested a service inquiry as to why is my application still pending. After 2 weeks I got their reply

I am also in the similar situation. Send a enquiry letter through attorney to NSC in Feb,2007. So far there is no reply but LUD changes. Haven't tried Infopass.
