Hold L1 and H4 Visa - Need advice

I work for a company and I have a L1 visa valid untill 2008. I took a long leave and now I came to US on H4 visa. Consulate has not marked the L1 as cancelled.

1) I would like to know if my L1 visa is valid since I got H4 stamped after that.
2) Can I work for the company in US? After my leave if I wnt to work for the company in US what should I do?

1. As per last action rule, you are on H4 now
2. Check with lawyer if its possible to withdraw H4 status and retain L1 status for you to work ....
