Hello,

My wife's Initial Interview notification finally arrived, for April 17th. On it it says I have to take my Birth Certificate (I am a US Citizen). However, I can't find one. My mom can't remember where she placed the one she had.

So my question is, do I need it in the interview? Can I just take my US Passport, which I just recently renewed?

Passport goodest...

You answered your own question. Your passport is sufficient, because no one cares about the birth certificate if they can bring a passport which is recently issued...:D

Your passport is an excellent form of ID...

As your interview is far off, now would be a good time to get a copy of your birth certificate, which can be obtained from the county records office where you were born. Its easy, quick and relatively cheap. Although I agree with Al its probably not necessary, it can't hurt to have it anyway.
