I have taken an Infopass appointment at the local (buffalo, ny) USCIS office. This is my first appointment, seem me details below. Assuming I get to talk to the best INS officer there is what kind of information can he share. In other words other than status questions what other things should I plan to ask. Any response would be appreciated

PD Oct 2001
I-485 RD April 2005
FP - May 2005
Last LUD - May 2005

I have had couple of EADs and APs since then and placed multiple inquiries. The last asked me to wait 6 months.

The best case scenario would be that you will get confirmation that your case has been delayed.
Infopass serves no useful purpose except to give you your present case status. They won't (and can't) help you with anything else, such as a request for expediting the case etc.
They can tell you if you're stuck in namecheck, when they sent the namecheck request to the FBI etc.
Also if you're not getting your GC they can tell you why, for example visa number unavailable.

What a waste of time

I witness incompetence at highest levels at the Buffalo USCIS office. Wasterd1 hour this morning. Talked to a woman immigration office who refused to put any thoughts into my question and just read me the response from the online status webpage.

What a bunch of..

The average USCIS employee is not only incompetent but is totally disinterested in performing his/her job. Though my infopass experiences have been better than what you just mentioned, I was told a lot of things that made it clear that the staff had no idea what they were talking about. The guy insisted that the digits in the receipt number - the 10 digits after "EAC" were the number of applications filed before mine. So he was trying to tell me that since that number is very large .. over a billion, it does take a long long time to process applications. And he wasn't kidding !! I didn't want to argue with him .. but thought he needed some basic training.

:) :) :) My guy was a little better. He took my A# number and told me my wife's name check is cleared and my was in limbo. He also ventured forth to say "Write a letter to USCIS"!!!!. Poor chap didn't know what his brethren are upto.

rduman,

That was hillarious, but it doesn't surprise me at all. These morons bluff some bs and pathetically think that we'll take their word as such. I wish I could tell these idiots,"Get yr fat ass out of yr chair and learn some basics in yr profession"

amitkoh,

I feel yr pain. But what could we do... Until there is some kind of system to oversee the whole immi process and until there is some transparency, these bunch of clowns will blatantly give false information and get away, unaccountable. Once I went for Infopass, and the moron I spoke to, did not give any info on my NC and defended as if it is a state secret and he was not at all interested in answering any other things.

Any idea during your conversion of these guys if the topic of retrogression come up ?

Another open question I was hoping to get an answer was ; if it retrogresses is the cut off date Mar 01 2007 or end of March for EB3 's ?

I am not sure what would be considered as cutoff with some of them getting Second FP's and RFE's e.t.c ?

Thanks

Infopass URL is down :( . I guess they are aware that people are going to schedule frantically to beat the MAR deadline.
