October Approvals needed.

You bet!..hope it starts soon too....just a little skeptically with they changing something from this date...so if we start seeing some approvals..will feel better ..

If I am not wrong, lot of SEP cases are still pending. Even mine is in SEP and looks like nothing is happening. Also, the scanner which I use to run for my notification day has almost 50% approval........I am waiting on the other side of 50%.........
 
right, so many SEP cases are pending, forget abt Sep, so many aug and july cases are not touched, mine is SEP 26th EB3, saw fe guys getting there approval for the month of SEP not mine though..
 
EAC-04-016 xxxxx here...

I'm not getting my hopes up though because:

a) As mentioned above, the 10/01 date in the latest VSC processing times update seem very optimistic -- it should be more like 08/01 from what I can tell. Hopefully the VSC won't get inundated with inquiry requests...

b) It seems possible that cases filed as of EAC-04-001 could be processed under the new guidelines. We should know if this is the case if there are no October approvals within, say, a few weeks...

I have EAC-04-014 and I'm also quite excited about the processing date touching october.
It is my understanding that the processing date usually indicates which applications are currently being processed, not the ones that are completed. Therefore a processing date of OCT 1 means that they are currently working on SEP/AUG/JUL/... applications.
I guess we would have to wait for the processing date to move at least to NOV.

FWIW, the following is a comment from our company lawyer (who has actually been extremely communicative during this whole ordeal). This is a response to a comment that I made that the VSC doesn't seem to be doing anything different since 04/30...

Lawyer: I agree as you point out below evidence of a new way processing at VSC is not apparent.

It has been a while since I've seen people posting FP notices. The scheduling of FP seems to be one of the most obscure procedures.

What if we started keeping an eye on a range of I-140's for 10/01 (EAC-04-001-xxxxx) using the scanner? This would probably be about the most reliable way to detect activity on these cases as quickly as possible given that probably most cases don't belong to people who post on this forum.

Anyone know what would be a good range for xxxxx? I tried 51900 through 52100 and found just a few I-140 cases in that range (none of them approved, one with an RFE from 02/04 or thereabouts).

I then tried around the 51000 - 51500 range but didn't find any I-140 cases so I'm guessing that there is a reserved range used for I-140's?

If we can find a good range of I'd be happy to scan these every day or so. We'd have to limit the range to about 290 cases or so (the inquiry limit is 300 / day and I'd want to have a few inquiries reserved for myself :p).

Any ideas on the best (probably as low as possible) range to use?

Following are ALL the I-140 applications that were received on Oct. 31, 2003.

Can you please use the scan file to scan ONLY these. I believe if you copy and paste these on the sheet and name the sheet as 04-022 and input the same #s in the Text box where the Macro asks you to input the date, you should be able to run a check on these (because the Macro should only check status for these #s).

This would give us a good idea for processing for this date. I cannot do these from my computer, otherwise I would do the same.

Cool -- how'd you get those and could I get them for Oct. 01, 2003 also (I'd rather scan Oct. 01 if possible since this should give us quicker feedback as to whether the VSC is moving forward with applications filed in the 2004 fiscal year).

Looks like the xxxxx numbers have quite a range...

I think what was meant was that, if the VSC is going to start using the new guidelines for concurrent apps filed as of 0ct. 01 (the start of the 04 "fiscal" year), then rather than seeing the October I-140's getting approved, this will stop and we'll start to see FP notices as the I-485's start to get attention instead (for concurrent apps).

Note: this is just a theory that was presented earlier when people saw the processing dates for EB2 and EB3 I-140's move to Oct. 01 last week. We won't know one way or another for a while.

Afaict btw, FP notices are still mostly being sent for people with I-485's pending from about 05/02 or thereabouts -- no sign that things are picking up...

Whoever wants any day's stuff to be scanned times and again, please post 140 scan(identify all the cases), do a reasonable sampling(remove approved ones/RFEs, post it and scan result will be presented ASAP(I have limited access to windows machine). No need to find out how good is immigrationwatch. I am planning to do 1 week scan at a time till that week shows 75% is over, if people are willing to put in their effort. Everytime they post it - results will be published.
