Labor Processing Times in California due to 245(i) - Part4

Why there is big jump in Case #s after June 8th to June 14th ?

Can someone comment on this.
What could be the reason??
New numbering or Big volume of applicants ???
 
Big jump is case #- no one knows why

I\'ve been asking this since August, but no one seems to know. Can anyone who calls SESA try to ask them?
 
My Case # 962xx- - - - - -P.D. 12-June- 2001

desik2 as you can see between my case and the next one is two days and more then two thousand numbers of cases. I think they just skip the number. Because usual they get about 100 cases per day as you can see from the thread.

I am not sure if this is the reason for the jump in number but here is the theory I got from my friends attorney.

Here is the FAQ entry for who is eligilbe for 245(i)

Q3. Am I eligible for Section 245(i) adjustment of status under the LIFE Act?

A3. To be eligible, you must:

Be the beneficiary of a Form I-130 immigrant visa petition ("Petition for Alien Relative"), or Form I-140 immigrant visa petition ("Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker"), or Form I-360 ["Petition for an Amerasian Widow(er), or Special Immigrant], or Form I-526 ("Petition for an Alien Entrepreneur") filed with the INS on or before April 30, 2001, (either received by INS or, if mailed, postmarked on or before April 30, 2001) or

Be the beneficiary of an application for labor certification filed with the Department of Labor (DOL) according to DOL rules on or before April 30, 2001, and

Also have been physically present in the United States on December 21, 2000, if the qualifying visa petition or labor certification application was filed after January 14, 1998.

This seem to indicate that it is not necessary to have received the priority dates on are before April 30. Just applying for lc before April 30 is sufficient to qualify for 245(i). Many people who applied even before April 30 got priority date of May or June. The jump seem to demarks the people who qualify for 245(i) from those who do not. So the guys who received case no after the jump - do you know if your applications were sent after April 30 ?.
 
Must be a skip in numbers

If iglon\'s PD is June 12, and next PD is June 14, it is very unlikely that they got 29,000 cases in 2 days.

Maybe, they assigned all 245i cases numbers starting at 100000 and so the next available number was 129xxx. Just my guess. However, remember that SESA does not process cases in order of case numbers, they process them in order of Priority Dates. So all 245i cases should have been processed by now since they carried PD less than equal to April 30.

how long is the time between SESA transfers out case and DOL regional acknowledge its receipt?

Hi gurus,

how long is the time between SESA transfers out case and DOL regional acknowledge its receipt? I mean, in the email inquiry result back from DOL regional, there is a received time stamp. I\'m wondering how many days/weeks will it take from the SESA transfers the cases to them?

My case should have been transferred to the DOL regional office. But I couldn\'t find my case in the dol email inquiry results for my company.

Any idea?

I asked the representative in SESA when they are anticipating to improve or speed up the process, he thinks they are doing very good right now. I don\'t think they realised the process is slow.
 
SESA as of December 21 workig on June 1st 2001

I call to SESA last Friday they are working on June 1 st 2001 and they will be on vacation until Friday 28 December 2001. So I thinck they will not process a single case until Wednesday 2 2002.
