Did anybody get the (plastic ) Green Card in the last few days at all?

We all know the printers are getting changed. I have never heard of such an operation in which a major national institution stalls the process to replace hardware.
Imagine a national bank stopping all the ATMs to replace them.
Something does not seem right.
Isn't everything hot swappable with little planning?
How can all the machines break at one time?

Any ways: Who on our forum got the green card in the month of June 2009 or May 2009?

The attempt is to find out if the GC deliveries have come to standstill or they are trickling. and then build a forecast when we get our's.

OK, mine is OCD case. :)

It's the gross incompetence of USCIS and the fact that they don't care about noncitizens. US passport machinery has been upgraded in the past to enable producing the latest passports, and they did it without having to shut down the whole production system for a couple of months. But passports are for citizens, so they figured out a way to change over the machines without the disruption (yes, the passports are done by DOS and not USCIS, but the point is that the changeover is possible without the disruption). That mental effort and planning is apparently too much for them to expend for noncitizens.

1) Forget the GC Beneficiaries, what about applicant's rights who are USCs. The USC sponsors of these new GCs have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars(33%) into USA tax system. same amount(33%) in savings which is contributing to capital markets in USA and spent the same amount (33%)which kept the economy going.

2) I saw on C-SPAN yesterday that DOD: Dept. Of Defense has spent multiple billions of dollars on military projects which amount to corruption.
What do we need to do so that # 1 economy in the world and home of scholars for the last 60 years do not take common law abiding tax payer on a ride. I feel being silently raped by 'Other side of the table". This has to end.

Vishnu, I have a feeling sometime that CIS considers us as a junk who came to US to take jobs. :(

Drop that notion. Except for those who are running Indian Casinos, everybody has come here in search of Ag, Au,$, Ed, or something similar.
All the races, ethnicities, cultures. colors, castes, creeds, geographies have contributed to USA. It is our duty to uphold Liberty, Freedom and Justice here.
It is never easy but one would still give USA better chance where Justice can win against mighty and strong. We have to form a vigilence group to watch out for TOP GUNS. We have to understand the difference between "Pulling Police Force Out" Vs. "Pulling the Building Down".
$ is winning over common man's desire for justice.

This is very frustrating! But I guess they can dish non-citizens whatever they want. They know we won't complain but wait. As they say, Life is not always fair. :(

tinkerbelluck: Congratulations for getting the Green Card.
I like your username.
What is your plan on using all the free time now that you won't be spending chasing USCIS for few more years. :)

I finally went and got my learners permit so learning to drive at the mo, and trying to find a job, which is hard in an area that relies on tourism, and attendance is allegedly down (but it didn't seem like it when i was in EPCOT with my husband a couple of days ago.) Luckly I have managers i worked with whilst on college program routing for me, so as soon as jobs at WDW appear i should be back to work. lol. We are also planning to have one on the way by the time we remove conditions.

Congrats tinkerbelluk,
Did I read it right that you plan to have a kid? If so, big congrats.
Enjoy life as US LPR. There are many doors open to you now.

I got mine and only about 3 weeks after getting the letter that said it could take up to 60 days. I didn't even know there was a switch to new printers. Guess I was lucky and either got one of the first ones or one of the last ones to roll off. It looks pretty much like the old one I had (the temporary one), but I didn't really inspect them side by side. What's different about the new one, I'll take a look and see if it's new or old.

You are around my timeline, approved 751 on 05-28-09. Did you get any CRIS updates(card production ordered)?? mine still shows pending. I also didn't get the approval letter, my lawyer did and forwarded it to me......

No updates. Just the approved letter then 3 weeks later the card. I was quite surprised it came that fast as the approval letter said to expect up to 60 days before the card would show up.

It's the government. Don't ever expect anything to make sense.

And a little O/T, but for any of you who think government run health care is a good idea, just remember the same government employee bureaucrats who make decisions on who gets a card and when, will be the ones determining who can go see what doctor and when. Think about that and you won't be bitching about your co-pays anymore.

Not even a "card production ordered?"....

I got the physical GC for my father. The GC was approved May 28th and we got the card in mail on June 12th. So I guess its trickling.
