Can I keep using my stem opt ead even though I have a c9 ead?

Hi, I have a valid stem opt until 2024. I am going to file for adjustment of status (AOS) to obtain a marriage based green card and I understand that you can file for a c9 ead along with the I-485 form. Once I get the c9 ead in hand, can I still use my stem opt and maintain F1 status or is it mandatory that i start using the new c9 ead? Since I'm filing for AOS, am I technically not giving up my non-immigrant status?

Yes you can continue using your STEP OPT EAD until your AOS application gets adjudicated. It is actually advisable to continue to do so as that enables you to continue to maintain your current F1 STEM OPT status
