If you are allowed to file I-485 before your priority date is current then of what significance is the priority date? Why have a priority date? Might as well throw the process out the window and give green cards to everyone.

Big waste of time - petitions like these don't lead to bills in Congress. You need millions of dollars to lobby Congress to get a bill introduced. I don't see the point. No flames - thank you.

Delay in naturalization is a flimsy argument. There are many green card holders who never naturalize and don't plan to.

It is extremely hard to get legislation introduced into Congress. Ask the corporations - they spend 10s of millions! I think it is pretty much impossible to get legislation introduced to benefit a narrow group of immigrants unless you are able to hire several high-paid lobbyists etc. etc...

And they won't do this.
