Thanks for your reply.
Ya, My friend is working on his H1. He didn't use his EAD yet.
The lawyer says one can file AOS for spouse as long the primary AOS is not Adjudicated.
Thanks

Hi!
One of my friends is in a situtation where he filed for 485, has a valid H1B till 2005 and recently travelled on AP
His dilemma is.... can he get married (in India) and bring his wife on H4 to the US. I mean is his H1 still valid? His lawyer says yes, But I thought I read a different...
Sorry to say... he's not all that clean. Thats doesn't mean we shouldn't condemn what happened.. but he's as bad as Jaya or Lallo... its true... i know its hard to believe but ask anyone who's involved in Andhra or at Central level work.
I worked closely on a project in (Rural) India the past...
The approval letter said its going to take upto 12 months
I got mine in 2 weeks...
was approved on 9/5/03 got the Plastic on 9/22/03
you'll receive a welcome notice 3 weeks before you get the plastic.

Hi!
Can anybody tell me if there's anything I should do after getting the card? we got it yesterday. I read in some posts about changing SSN card... is that meant for all GC holders? how does it effect the status?
I'll be moving to a different address in a month or so... do I have to...
Congrats!
Don't worry about the online status... I got approval letter 2 weeks ago and got my physical card (both me & wife) yesterday 9/22/03.. but the online status said until 2 days ago that my case will take 999 days to adjudicate... now it says my case is missing...

well this is more of a question than reply to the other posts....
How do you interpret the law in a AC21 case with respect to changing jobs after getting an approval. Where the company that files for 485 doesn't exist anymore....
thanks

I too submitted 3 paystubs. 1 was from old employer and 2 were from current employer. It never seemed like a problem to me 'cos my lawyer always downplayed the salalry issue..
infact he said I don't even have to have a job at the time of RFE. all I need is a job at time of interview...
Gopal,
I don't think it should be a problem, I was in the same boat as you are now (8 months ago) I took a 20% pay cut when I switched my job. I got an RFE. I replied them with my current salalry (at the time). My lawyer says pay is not a problem as long as you are in the same or similar...
Thanks everybody!
hopegclucky, I'm not sure about your situation. My 140 was approved even before I filed for my 485. I'm sure there are lot of very informed people on this forum who can advise or give you facts beter than me.
As far as I know (from my lawyers note), There were 2 memos...
Yeah! I did my EAD and otherstuff too.. but the general idea is that they tend to be more accomodating when you are there with your lawyer.
BTW, you have to sign something that says you are voluntarily giving up the option the option of having your lawyer present.
Luckily for me the DAO...

Infact when I got the int letter my lawyer suggetsed that I take some other lawyer ('cos he's expensive) to the interview.. I called up a couple of them (3 actually) and explained my situation.. they all were not aware of...
