I-485 transferred to local office..

I just checked online today my I485 adjustment and it was now changed to:

"Your I485 application was transferred to the local office.... They will send you a notice of their decision soon...."

I guess it's now moving....to where?

You are a lucky man. That means you will have an interview schedule in the local INS office soon. At least they are working on your case. Very good sign.
Depending on where you live it could take upto few months to a year for interview letter.

from the time they sent the papers to the local office... to the interview... in my case it took 3 weeks.... approvl came 2 weeks after that... this varies depending on the place you live and how busy the INS is...

Now I'm excited....

The local office would be Los Angeles...and I live just five miles from it...

Will there be an interview? My lawyer says sometimes they forego the interview and just send an approved petition.
