Suggest photo studio in Bergen county

Sorry, I don't have any recs for your area, but if you're out of luck you can always take one yourself with a digital camera. It's perfectly acceptable provided the INS requirements are met. I don't see why the photo studio couldn't do it, however. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure...

    Oath

If the letter does not state that the oath ceremony takes place on the same day of the interview, it probably won't. Usually, the ceremony takes place a month or two after the interview, provided that you passed the interview. Some locations offer same-day ceremonies; this was not offered in San...

    Most jobs require US citizenship??!!!!

It's hard to say without more details. Does the job description say "U.S. Citizenship required"? Are you applying for jobs in the defense or commercial sectors? If you are applying for defense-related jobs, it should be obvious that many of them require citizenship - that requirement has been...

I believe normal passport processing takes around 4-6 weeks. If you plan to visit Canada within a couple of weeks after the ceremony, you may strongly want to consider expedited passport processing in which case you should get it in about 2 weeks or less. Of course, it costs extra (I forget the...

The Nat. certificate is handed out at the ceremony. If you wish to apply for the passport immediately after the ceremony, you'll have to surrender the certificate along with the other required materials. They will mail the certificate back to you along with the new US Passport. You're right, it...

Just got back from the oath ceremony in S.F. 12/17/02. No problems at all. As far as I could tell, no one was turned back. Similar experience to that described in nn2002's post. A few hundred in attendance. Started on time at 8am. They only collected the oath ceremony invitation letter and...

#1Chicago - congrats on completing your Citizenship process. Seems like in your case the ceremony went pretty fast. I think in SF there will be lots more people (and more waiting in line). I guess many of us can breath a collective sigh of relief regarding that secondary check. But I have no...

I did a google search for IBIS, and it seems the INS had already begun to implement the security check back in May 2002. So it would seem that the check would have to have been done for applicants who receive an interview and oath ceremony invitation in December. Guess we'll have to see what...

nn2002: Thanks for the detailed info. It is exactly the info I was looking for. Yes, it will be at the Masonic as well. I once attended a George Winston concert there. :D #1Chicago: Thanks for the info as well. I'm in the SF area, so I believe it only applies to the Chicago area and not...

    Please share oath ceremony experience

Could someone describe their experiences at the actual ceremony? I couldn't find anything in the archives. Specifically, does the ceremony usually start on time? How long does the ceremony take? Can family members come along, including small children? Also, on the appointment letter, it...

I-751 issue. Haven\'t received any confirmation from INS.

You should call your service center for info Our story: CSC: Wife got GC 6/98. Applied for I-751 3/00, received confirmation letter a few months later with receipt number. I-751 approval letter received 11/01. Went to INS 11/01 to apply for permanent GC. Received plastic GC 12/01 good for...

    Plastic card for N-400

Here is what a rep at the Service Center said They said to make a copy of the passport stamp, along with a brief note mentioning you have not received the card. I was going to do this, but luckily I got the card in only a few weeks (filed at CSC in my case).

Filing N-400 application: hire attorney or do-it-yourself?

Is there any advantage to having a lawyer fill out the application and file it? Lawyers charge an arm and a leg to do this (why?) so I\'d rather do it ourselves. Understanding the instructions is not a problem for me, but maybe there are "secret" tips that lawyers are aware of...

Latest Citizenship Processing times for California

No receipt # on my notice N400 application sent to CSC 1/23/02, "Notice of Action" received 2/12/02, $250 check cashed around that time as well. I also do not see any receipt number nor WAC number, only an "Application Number" that begins with WSC followed by nine digits.
