I received an answer at another forum. There I was told to wait it out - that my case should become active when I am current in Feb. That if 30 days passes, and nothing has happened, to call USCIS. Does that sound right to you? Hope so!

In July 2007, the Visa bulletin was published to indicate that every category was current. I filed my I-485 at that time, sent in the $395 fee, got a receipt back from USCIS, had my physical and got fingerprinted. Then, they changed the status back to non-current. I am EB3, March 13, 2007 is...
SandySkil,
I'm glad you made a decision that will work best for your situation. It will probably save you much stress and many headaches in the long run!
My employer is a public school system, so there was (is) no money for immigration lawyers, even though there is a shortage of teachers in my specialty and hiring a "foreigner" became necessary.
After much research and a few early mistakes, I have been working full time in H1B status since 2002...
So...I guess this was a stupid question?
I assume, since no one answered my question, that the answer is simply:
When my employer goes to apply for yet another H1B extension for me this spring, he should just include his current address. USCIS will know who he is, even with the addy change...
How does my employer inform the USCIS of it's change in address. Still in the same city, just a new building and address. Is there a form available online for this? We have approved I-140 and have sent in I-485 (way back in July 2007).

Hello all,
My current H1B extension expires July 31, 2008. We submitted an application to extend for another year - sent the extension I-129 in May.
If the extension is not approved by the time my current H1B expires:
1. Am I in trouble?
2. How long can I stay in the States?
3...
I am about to send in for an 8th year extension on my H1B. I have approved I140. My PD is March 2007.
My question:
If I send in payment (my employer "pays", but I actually am the one who foots the bill) and my I129, etc, and my PD becomes current in the June or July bulletin, am I...
Double check this with RealCanadian, but I believe if you are Canadian, all you need is your passport and new I94 to travel - as long as your H1B is current and I94 is current.
Thanks for your quick reply.
I am confused about the 'visa stamp'. If I travel home to Canada with my current I94, do I need to get my passport stamped as well to return to the states? Or is my I94 enough? If I do need a stamp, do I get it in Canada or the US?
As far as I know, my I-485 application is sitting on a shelf at the NSC. I sent it in July. My check has not been cashed.
I have H1B extension until July 31, 2008.
Can I travel on my H1B to Canada? Or do I have to stay in the US because my I-485 is 'pending' (which it really isn't...
