Expedited passport – the system does work !!!!

I did put my A number on my application. Not sure that it matters at all. My passport number and A number are different. As Jedi.Knight suggests, you will most likley have your A number for life tho' I know of no routine situations where it would ever come up again.

How is walk-in Fingerprinting done ?

I inadvertently missed my appointment and, based on advice from this forum, did a "walk-in" rather than wait for a new appointment. The guy on the desk was a little "power hungry" but did let me in and from then it was easy-peasy and everybody was super nice. Definitely worth trying but if you...

Expedited passport – the system does work !!!!

I applied for my new (first) passport two weeks ago and it arrived today. My naturalization certificate arrived with it. Some threads have indicated they are sometimes returned separately. I used the expedited service which includes priority mail for both the application and the passport...

Any cases where Citizenship was denied after passing interview

I was told 60-90 days to the oath letter but it actually came in 20 !!!!!!

Travel out of the US between Interview and Oath

Unless its a true personal emergency, I would not postpone the oath tho' the system does allow for it. Remember the excellent "conveyor belt" analogy !!!! In case you did not know it ..... the process is likened to a conveyor belt. Stay on it and things generally work thru' the system quite...

Adjucation Manual: Procedures for Conducting Natz Interviews!

I agree with boatbod. I found this site very useful but get frustrated that many posters seem not use the search tool at all. Probably at least 50 - 70% of questions have been answered in other threads. Also many, many answers are actually available in the USCIS informational material. Ah well...

    Oath Ceremony and Employment

Congratulations, Topaz123, most IOs are pretty reasonable I think. Treat them with the respect they deserve and things almost always go well unless there are difficult or ambiguous circumstances.

Staple or paper clips - N 400 application

Use paper clips if you want but do not use staples. I would strongly recommend that you use Certified Priority Mail with Return Receipt. It costs less than about $10 inclusive and is surely worth it. This will be 2-3 day delivery max. Overnight not required in my opinion.

Question to new US-Citizen That had Interview for Citizenship

The IO asked to see my GC early in the interview but did not ask how I got it. That is all in my USCIS records anyway. I applied under the 5 year rule and so he never asked for marriage certificate at all (tho' I did have it with me, just in case).

    Oath wording and dual citizenship

As you all know, the oath of allegiance taken at the US naturalization ceremony requires that: I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore...

Traffic tickets and naturalization (threads merged)

RiseB1 ..... do a search on this forum on "traffic" or "tickets" and you will indeed find a gazillion of posts. I have no quantitative support but I suspect that the split is about 50/50 for and against listing them. Based on an immigration lawyer's article written in a journal (see my...

    wrong job title - problem?

In the greater scheme of things, this issue is not worth worrying about. I am not even sure a correction at interview is required but if you want to, make sure you have some plausible explanation as to the mistake. To be brutally honest, I do not think that 99% of the population (both me and...

How much delay if not attend interview?

I agree with the above. If you do not take appropriate steps to keep your application alive, it might be deemed to have been abandoned. Then yoiu would have to start over from scratch. I do not think that we on this forum know exactly how long you might have. A good immigration lawyer and/or...
