I had the same situation where my kids passports were expiring in 3 months and we had interview. My attorney suggested getting passports renewwed, which I did. BTW, it takes only a day to get new passport. Gave it in the morning and got new one same evening. Where are you located?

I got letter from Local office (Newark).

Not sure but I heard a person had the same situation and was asked why his salary is less? He answered that due to economy, slaries were cut and he was approved. Since ur salary now is back to labour salary, u should not have a problem, I believe.
