i have received yellow paper requesting certified copy of court disposition, etc. I received that because i indicated in my N-400 that i was cited for minor traffic infraction (driving on HOV lane). The citation was in 2003 and it was dismissed by a judge. I have stated in the N-400 the reason...
Congrats for getting your GC. It is a big milestone.
I would guess you heard or read about the emotional rollercoaster that several fellow asylees (including myself) went thru to get their GC. Five to seven years wait (from asylee approval to receipt of GC) was pretty much standard. As an...
I expect that as the above backlog reduces, FBI can have increased resources (human or otherwise) to work on the backlog of naturalization application. That may sound too optimistic; but it doesn't hurt to hope for better. For some of us, the longest wait is behind us, yet the remaining days to...
I will be eligible for ctzship on 6/12/2009, which will also mark tenth year since I came to US. Still live in a city I first arrived in, about nine years ago.
I am counting down...
Sbernal:
If I remember it correctly -- this forum voted its moderator(s) based on their demonstrated ability and willingness to constructively "moderate" and keep us up-to-minute on asylum matters. They have done superb job on moderating, and they deserve appreciation than absurd attack.
I...

I haven't had the chance to see the...
Can asylees get Re-entry permit? I thought that only non-asylee GC holders can apply and get RP. Can you expand on how an asylee with GC can get RP? I prefer RP to RTD only because the RP is valid for two years.
My question to you would be -- why do you want to renew your NP? I would recommend againt renewing a NP. I am unsure whether renewing NP (but not travelling to your Country of Nationality) has implication on the requirement and approval of citizenship.
I think it is 12 months not 6 months. However, in practice, you can not have an RTD that is valid for one year period from date you receive it (not from date of issue). So, the length of your stay (out side US) is constrained by the expiry date of the RTD. You may not want to stay outside beyond...
Thankful, thank you for your thoughts. I agree with your point. I am not a lawyer, but when I read through the various articles by UN (on statelessness), it seems that there is "arguable" points. As you indicated, I understand that you guys (those in law profession) can make unarguable case...
I have not visited this site for over a year. I have been fully wrapped up by workload, graduate school study and other personal matters. I will be done with school by this June. I am ecstatic. Sorry, to tell you my crap.
It is great to see veteran forum members like wantmygcnow, Lazer and...
