You know what IIO told me just now?!

Before I take any further actions, I want to make sure that BCIS did not approve my case yet.

So at 12 am I called the 800 number, and one lady told me:

"the reason you did not get approved yet probably is: there are too many zeros in the 13-digit receipt number! (mine eac02040500XX).

She is right - there is form one can fill out a form to petition BCIS to reduce the number of zeros. The GWB administration is working on a "reduction of zeros act" and hopefully it will get thru both houses. Of course, then the BCIS memos (which will come out once every 18 months) will add to the general confusion around exactly how the zeros are going to be reduced and how BCIS interprets "too many zeros".

I can feel another petition coming ...

To Petition makers:
If this person is right, this type of answer given by BCIS can be included in the petition.

To BCIS suers:
Note this thing down. Another good example of harrasment.

To all those waiting:
Be mentally prepared to hear this when calling BCIS.

To all those calling for fun:
DO NOT CALL, if your EAC # number has too many zeroes.

wasting time

No use of calling BCIS. Every call wastes your time plus someones' time in BCIS. Besides it doesn't solve your problem. But it helps in reducing the cost.

Here is what my assumptions:

On an average BCIS spends 1/8 man days (.125 man days).
If BCIS receives 10000 calls/day it amounts 1250 man days (roughly 156 persons/per day).

Average hourly wages is $6.

So BCIS will be spending $7500 on an average on 10000 calls per day.

If everyone stops calling BCIS then they will get mad so then they
will start looking for work.
