Mail room operations have long been sub-contracted and automated. I don't think there is any data entry operation going on (as they have electronic scanning of documents). And contractors (like the ASC) are usually efficient.
Except for the shredding, INS backlogs are no way close to the speed in which applications are entered into the system (RD v/s ND is ususally a few days to a few weeks with exceptions).

what abt attachments to ead app?
normally, we have to attach copies of 485, 140, existing EAD and marriage cert (if applicable). inspite of all this they issue RFE. if we e-file our application, what about the supporting documents? i do hope they will not ask us to mail them in and try to verify that...
