Yet another photo question

Hi all,

I have one question about the photos to submit with I-485. The instruction on the I-485 form says they must be *glossy.* Does this mean they would reject your application if the photos are matte?

I showed the instructions to my photographer and he said it was the same as the passport photos and that was what I thought, too. But the photos I received were matte, though everything else, i.e, the size and composition requirements, lightening, background, etc, was perfectly met.

Now I realize it does not seem to be the case the U.S. passport photos must be glossy (and that's why the guy did the mat photos, I guess, and many portrait studios do matte photos only for passports), so perhaps there is actually a difference between the passport photos and the GC applicaiton photos. But I'm not perfectly sure.

Anyway, I wonder if there's anyone who had his/her photo done matte and had no problem? How particular the CIS is about this requirement? I am considering having it done again (don't want to take any risk), but I guess I am a bit confused as I heard much about the GC photos being the same as the passport photos.

Thanks likuliku and mmlulin for the replies. I don't see why these photos cannot work, either -- they are just matte but otherwise perfect. I'll show the photos to my lawyer anyway. Hopefully, like likuliku's lawyer, she will say they are just fine.

Thanks again.
