Yet Another Friday Approval...

Well, my wife and I are approved, according to the USCIS web site. Not much to say other than to give our details - we made an inquiry via our local Congressman in February, and he said INS was generating an RFE. Got that in March, responded to it, and INS received the response on 3/12/04. Both our I-485s were approved exactly 2 weeks later, today on 3/26/04. It was n EB-2 Employment-based petition, and I changed employer under AC21 in October of last year. I'm pretty sure it was the Congressman's inquiry that got the ball rolling, even if it did generate an RFE for tax returns, employment letter and paystubs. :)

Yay!

Please post your RFE details.

RFE issued 3/5/04 for :
- 2 year's Federal tax return, W2 and 1099 schedules
- most recent 2 month's paycheck stubs
- letter of employment from sponsor (got it from current employer instead - same job title, duties, so no problems)

We hadn't filed 2003 taxes then, so we submitted 2001 and 2002 returns, along with 2003 W2s.

Do you think to contact congress man is worth it?

I believe it was, in our case. I think it was the Congressman's inquiry that got INS to look at our application, even if it did generate an RFE. From inquiry to approval was six weeks. - faster than EAD renewal! :)

I was told by our Congressman's office that INS will look at a case ahead of schedule if it is within 6 months of the current processing date (we were an April 02 case when the current date was Jan 15th 02). I don't know where they got that information from - whether it was from being told by INS, or from experience.
