Company wasn\'t been doing well last few months and I was lucky to survive the layoffs. I don\'t have to worry about status any more.

Thanks to Rajeev Khanna for hosting this wonderful site. Since INS and the lawyer are not helpful in answering questions, this site was the only source of information. Thanks to contributors (Bahnu et al.) and myladoor , OCT2000 for maintaining the immitracker.

I will be around for few days to answer any questions.

Good luck to everyone.

Thank you all for the congratualtory messages.
I got my passport stamped at Philly on 7/3/00. Fairly straight forward process but we do need a lot of patience.
Got there aroung 10.45 a.m. and waited in a queue for a number. Got a number after about an hour. I was called around 4.15 P.M. and the process itself took less than 10 min. They took my I-94s and finger print. Cancelled out the existing visas in the passport and stamped the temporary \'permanent resident\' stamp valid for a year.
