Wrong RFE sent to me

Early I post message about INS send me RFE request my J-2 waiver which I have never in J-2 status. I was admitted to F-2, then change to F-1->H1, I am primary applicant.

I found out the possible reason they sent me this is I put wrong I-94 number in I-485 application. Last time I was admitted, at port INS officer didn't write down I-94 number which was given at my H-1B approval notice, so I though the default number in the I-94 card is my I-94 number and filled it in my I-485 application.

Does anyone know if this could cause any trouble for me. How do I correct this big mistake now

I do not not yhink u did anything wrong

Usaully i-94 that u get with ur H1 B approval notice while u r in US goes back to INS as ur departure number. The I-94 that u get while entering US(white card) is ur last arrival/departure number. I think thats exactly what is required in ur 485 application.

I MAY BE TOTALLY WRONG...Wait for other experts comments!!!

Any other thought about this I-94 number. Is default number in the white I-94 card we got at entry port or the number in H1 approval notice. Which one we should put in I-485.

Don't worry

You did what suppose to do. Your latest I-94 number supposed to be entered in I-485. This I-94 number will be same if you renew your H1 visa after entering into US. I hope this will help. BTW it is not a legal advise.

MY experience on I-94..

First H1.
- Got white I-94 at Entry.
- White I-94 collected while Leaving USA.
Second B1.
- Got White I-94 at Entry.
- Applied for Second H1.
- Got I-94 Along with H1 (Light Green one).
- White I-94 Collected While Leaving US.
Second H1.
- Got White I-94 at Entry.
- I showed the Green I-94 that I have.
- They said, you should not have had this and
collected it back, at the Entry.
- White I-94 collected while leaving USA.

Got another White I-94, when I re-entered USA.
I just did not understand why I got the Green I-94 along with my H1.

But I know that the rule is - Whenever you give out your I-94 Number - ALWAYS give the one which was given to you at the POE. (Not anything that you receive in a mail)
