Wrong Marriage date in 485 application need help!!

Guys,

We got an RFE for proof of marriage. It turns out that our marriage date was put wrong in our 485 form.

Now our attorney is suggesting us to give an affidavit for this.

Has anybody been through this?... Do BCIS accept affidavits in case of wrong entries in 485 forms?.
