I-140, I-485 EAD were filed in September 2003, my I-140 is approved
Help needed:

1.My I-485 reciept has my correct name, my valid First EAD that I have has correct name, the AP that I have has correct name and All have same A#

2.I just noticed the copy of my I-140 approval Notice and it has incorrect spelling of my last name it has written as :Namman X YYYYY( extra M) but the A# is same as on I-485 filing reciept and on past approved EAD and AP. I have not used EADand still on H1 and recently I got my H1 extension approval it has my correct Name, last name and it has same A# as on all the above petitions ( that H1 extension was filed after I-140 approval becase I want to maintain H1 status for some more time). My concern it just the extra M in my last name on I-140 approval notice.
I spoke to company lawyer on phone and he said not a problem becase I-485 has correct name and correct A# and no need to worry. He is not very helpful person.
what I was thinking is that I-485 rests on approved I-140 , do you see any problems for me? I am confused....

It should not be a problem. Actually my First name was mis-spelled in my I-485 as well as my last AP/EAD. I called the NSC and told them that they had misspelled my name and they told me that they would correct the name in their records and I received an Acknowledgement from them in less than 30 days.
I went for Passport stamping with the Last Name mis-spelled in the I-485 Approval notice but there was no problem. When I applied for the Plastic Card, I entered the correct name in the Form and the Card was received by me in less than 10 days with the correct name.
Dont fret about it !!! You will be fine. Just call the NSC and have them correct your records, thats it...

I think your lawyer is right. You GC will be based on the information in I-485, not I-140. In the worst case, USCIS adjucator can send a RFE (for I-485) asking why the names in I-140 and I-485 are different. Otherwise, I don't see any more or other issue.
