Wrong Country of birth

Go to Local Office and enquire their. They should be able to rectify that. I have similar issue my wife's middle name is misspelled even I need to go.
 
Toolongawait, really feel sorry to hear about that, three inputs here:

1). you have to change it, this is very important info, clean the mess so no more confusing when she travels with both gc and passport (different nationality in deep trouble at the customs!!!), also when she turns citizenship

2). she can travel on stamp

3). according to ins website, replacement of i-551 (gc) will cost her 13 months in tsc :o (right now there is bug in timesheet fo tsc, i believe they published csc's data on ours)

Did you actually go or planning to go ?

Were you directed by someone to go to local office ? Did you talk with BCIS before doing it ?

I called 1-800 number. This mistake was their in I485 receipt itself. I mentioned and asked to change at the time also. Long before that our attorney's office sent a letter requesting correction. Even she got faulty card.

I am planning to go next week. I think we need to file I-90.
 
I did some research on it.

I think we need to file I90 at local office and in person. We cannot do e-filing or mail it. They will take finger print again and request for new card.

The moron is careless

I just wonder how can he put wrong country in. Did he put USA as the birth country? :)

:o Mylvka, good post. But I really don't doubt this is possible with TSC. TSC just never stops giving us all kinds of surprises. I still remember one guy said not long before that he got an RFE for his AP because of the wrong photo, but after receiving right photos, TSC put the wrong phot on his AP any way. :D

Well ! They have already made the mistake. They put 'French Pen.." as contoury of birth. I can't spell the second word unless I look at the card.

At the moment, the cost of mistake is :

1. Another trip and wait at Charlotte Service Center.
2. A day off from work.

I hope they do all right next time. We have stamps on passport anyways....
