They need us as much as we need them. Imagine what would happen if one day we all immigrants woke up and said we're going home. The mighty america that turns the wheel of world commerce would struggle to get the morning paper out.
Remember in this world there are no free lunches.
The brain drain that we hear about on and off is not a myth. It is happening today and You and I are the cause of it. It is all the matter of resources being taken from one use and being applied to other. One becomes stronger the other weaker.
I don't want to start the endless discussion on whether to stay or leave, neither I want to get into a dialogue of how good one is and how bad is the other.
At the end of the day it boils down to the issue of needs. Who can fulfill our needs better. And countries of the west know that too. So they provide us what we want and we give them what they want. It's a trade off that we do. That is Capitalism at it's best and it's worst.
