Worried, been 6 months since interview

My interview was done on Feb 21 2006 and I haven't heard anything from INS. The immigration officer said I passed but was waiting for background to clear.So it's been six months and am worried. Interview was in Boston, MA.
Am going to speak to an immigration officer this week. Anything I should ask them in particular? Anything else I can do? Thanks.
 
Here is what you whould do at this point: File a lawsuit in U.S. Federal District Court under 8 U.S.C. 1447(b). There is an extensive threat on this forum on how to file such a suit.

My interview was on february 2nd, 2006 and its been more than that, beucause of I was not in US, I didnt go through the whole law suit thing. Probably you will get the same answer that I got.

"The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open.

Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on your case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the background checks are complete. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact us by calling our customer service number provided below.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

I suggest you to go thru the law suit stuff since its been 180 after the interview(120 days for normal law suit)

I probably give u more details because I am suppose to call them today ( today is the 181th day after my interview)

yea I called them up, and gave me the "FBI namecheck" answer and no guarantee of when that is going to be done.

FBI check the names and if there is any case or something comes up they have to investigate about it.

I dont know what this poor guy did. :(
