I send my spouse's EAD application for renewal by express mail( Paper Based). They have received it on 6/8/2006. Till now my bank does not show any chech has withdrawn ($180.00). USCIS generally withdraws check immediately and that will be reflected in banks within few days.

I am not sure why they are taking so much time...did any one had similar experience?

Does the check have her name?

I too just sent my wife's AP yesterday and had a simliar doubt.

Didnt you send your application along with hers? If you sent just her application and your check, might be that is a problem. Not sure though.

Kiran,

What kind of problem you are talking about? Why should I send along with mine? We have been doing this renewing for 3 years.

I applied 4 eads so far and going to apply 5th one.

I always send both application in same envelop through fedex and send different check for each application. did you receive application number yet? my guess was they send you application number after your check is cleared, hoeever I might be wrong.

jambalakadi,
Did you get your receipt ? did your check debited ? I also having same problems. i mailed on 29th sept and still my check not debited or not gotten the receipt yet.
Please let me know your status.
Thanks
Param

it is taking USCIS a longer time to enter cases in their system and give out receipts. Following is the Note from the USCIS Website:

http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/index.htm

NOTE: Due to an unusually large volume of receipts at the Service Centers, it is taking longer than expected to enter cases into the system. Depending on the type of case and service requested, it may take approximately 14 days to generate and mail receipt notices. Once the receipt notice has been generated, it may take an additional 2 to 3 days for customers to receive their receipt notices in the mail. Per existing policies and procedures, requests for Premium Processing Service will continue to be processed within 15 days. USCIS wishes to assure all customers that the original received date will be honored and recorded on the receipt notice. This date will appear in the "Received Date" box on Form I-797, Notice of Action. The received date is different from the "Notice Date", which also appears on Form I-797. The Notice Date is the date the receipt notice was actually generated. USCIS has taken appropriate measures to address this situation.

Having said that, it does seem that jambal's case has taken much longer. I would say if the receipt is not received in a couple of days, try contacting USCIS. You may have to send in a fresh application as it may have been lost.

i dont think the above note means anything......since we applied to NSC....transferred to TSC....got receipts all within 10 days....(check was cashed in 4-5 business days...)

but uscis is not well organized hence anything is possible...
