I am a US Citizen and filed for my wife's GC in June 2004. She has received her Advance Parole document and Employment Authorization (both of which expire in July 2005). Washington DC office is currently processing January 2004.
I may soon (next month) be getting a company transfer to work in India. This will be a temporary posting for upto a year. We are trying to decide whether it is better for her to stay here until the interview
If she joins me in traveling to India, what are the risks to her GC application?
1. Gap between interview letter and interview- I am not sure how much time is normally given between receiving the interview letter and the interview date. If it is a few weeks, she will have enough time to travel back to the US. Can anybody share their experiences here?
2. Will her working abroad be held against her at the AOS interview?
3. After reading the posts, it looks like I need to be present for the interview as well. Is this correct?
4. If we sell our house and give a friend's address as our new address, will the fact that we do not own nor rent be a factor in the interview?
