Working on EAD

Hello Guys,
My H1 is expiring and I am going to start working on my EAD.
I am not changing my employer.
Does my employer need to do something when processing the payroll?
Do I need to tell my employer to change my payroll status from H1 to EAD? Or I don't have to do anything.

In short: What are steps to ensure that I am working legally on EAD?

Thanks

If you are working for the same company, you don't need to do anything. This is what my co. lawyer told me when I enquired. She didnot do anything.

My H1 expired last month, and will not be renewed, as per co. policy. So I am on EAD, but did not have to do any paperwork, as the co. is same.

I think you need to make a copy of your EAD (front and back) and give that to your company HR. That's all you need to do.

This is absolutely FALSE. You need to fill out a new I-9 form and submit that with a copy of your EAD card (front and back) and a copy of your driver's license or passport (for identification) to your HR department. Visit http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-9.htm for more information and to download the I-9 form.

Hope that helps.
