Working for finacial companies with EAD

Wanted to find out if there are any issues in working for financial companies like insurance agents, financial planners, financial analysts, personal banker etc with EAD and with I-485 filed and in queue. My wife has been applying for such companies and there has been few instances where the companies have selected her in the interview and later told that they cannot proceed as her EAD is of temporary nature with an expiration in few months.

Generally, do such positions require permanent residency (as such positons have access to people's SSN and financial records).

Please let me know if somebody has gone through such an experience.

Appreciate the responses as my wife seems to be losing heart due to such issues and any feedback/guidance would be invaluable. Thanks !!

yes, Wells Fargo, Citi and all those have it even on their websites that they are only willing to work with citizens and permanent residents.

The thing is, Financial institutions are extremely tightly regulated and audited all the time. They simply cannot afford the risk of a bad apple on EAD coming in, making a mess and then dancing out of the country back home with a pocket full of small change. in which case they'd be hard pressed to prosecute outside the borders. [and here follows my opninion] now a citizen or a PR - they can wait for that person to come back to the US and then get them.
