Working Extra on H1

My Current status:
Right now I am OPT.
Applied for H-1 at NSC a month back.


My employer is a university and right now I work fulltime and get paid fulltime.
Now my question is..
Recenly my boss was talking to me and told that he has some projects that he is planning to do out side of the university and he wants me to be part of that work. He would like to pay me for that in addition the the pay that i get fromt he univ.
Can I work more than 40 hours?
Can I get paid from other sources?
Is there any way I can manage this ?

I want check again what I understood.

SO what you say is .. I can work more than 40 hours either on OPT or on H1. On OPT I can work for as many employer as possible, but with H1 I cannot work more than one employer untill unless I get another H1 for the new employer!! ?

If applican wife has EAD . does she has to work on same field as her husband or she can work anyware ?
