I had my fingerprinting done last week and I am waiting for my interview. Couple of years back I joined the overseas office of a company based in the US. I was at the overseas location for 5 1/2 months and got transferred to the US office. I stayed out of the country for 176 days (just beat the 6 month deadline). While I was overseas, I did not have a US salary and paid my taxes at the overseas location. I paid US taxes for the remaining 6 1/2 months for the year. I will be taking the US tax return transcripts for the interview. I continue to work for the same company in the US. My questions are :
1. Should I also take my overseas tax returns for the interview?
2. Would there be questions asked about why I stayed out of the US for 176 days and what kind of questions I should expect?

Thanks,

I would just take it with me, but produce it only if specifically asked about it.

As long as you filed your US tax return as "resident", you should be fine.
