Hey guys....
My green card process was started in year 2004 with my previous employer(I'm working for a different company now).I have served that company for three years and I got my labor certification in Jan 2007 through them. Before I could file my I-140 and I-485 application I left that company in Feb 2007.
My previous employer decided to continue my green card process in good faith however I paid all the expenses. Now I have got my EAD(two weeks ago) on behalf of the I-485 filed through my previous employer. My question is - I have been hearing things like one can change employer after 180 days of filing I-485.In my situation I was NOT working for my previous employer when I filed for my I-140 and I-485(Concurrently) so there is no point whether I leave him now or after 180 days.I have been working with a different employer since I filed for I-485..Can I work as an independent consultant on EAD now? and Do I have to join back to my previous employer in future after I get my green card?
I would appreciate if someone could solve this puzzle for me.
