Hi gurus,
Here's my situation....
I got my green card with company A in nov 2004. Got laid off from this company a few days ago. Filed wife's 485 application in May 2004 and she will go for fingerprinting next month. She has EAD and AP.
I am getting very good offer from company B, but they are in Canada.
Here are a couple of options I wanted to ask about if I decide to take the offer -
1. If we move to Canada now to work there, what will be situation with my green card? Will I still be a US permanent resident if I keep coming back once every year? And what will happen with wife's green card application? Will it be considered abandoned or is there a way to keep app active while in Canada?
2. Stay in the US and work as an independent contractor while I work for this Canadian company. They may be willing to do this. Is this a problem since I am being paid by a Canadian company?
I will really appreciate any answers/suggestions/input.
