I finished my Masters degree and joined my first full time job 3 years ago. The job requirements were Bachelors + zero to two years of experience.
I have been promoted recently and the requirements for the current job is Bachelors + two or more years of experience.
I had a discussion with my attorney on labor cert. filing via RIR and he mentioned that since I gained the work experience (3 years) with my current company, they cant post an ad. for my current job, but will have to post ads. for the job I was hired on. Considering the current job market, I feel there is little chance of clearing the labor for an ad (with bachelors + 0 to 2).
My only hope it seems is to change jobs and use the experience gained with the first company. But I am really happy with my current job and not really inclined to switch jobs.
Please share some thoughts on this issue. Are all the masters students who have stuck with the company that hired them first in the same boat?
