Hi everyone

I have a question that my asylum case has been approved couple of years ago and i ve been applying for work authorization card every year (1 year after it expires )

somebody told me that if your case has been approved then all u do is go to social security office and apply for new social security card with same number which doesn t have VALID WITH INS AUTHORIZATION ONLY option.
and i went to S.S. Office and apply for new card and i got the same card with VALID WITH INS AUTHORIZATION ONLY option again.

So is it true that you can do this way or i got wrong info.,
or did i do something wrong ?

please help
thanx

You will need to inform the SS office that you are an asylee and they need to remove that restriction from the SS card. Take a copy of your approval notice for asylum along with your I-94. They have to issue you a unrestricted SS card.

Thanks
